So I was assigned an exercise in therapy to keep track off thoughts that keep me up at night; thoughts that rush around my head, overwhelming me; thoughts that crush me into a funk so deep, that it can keep me from moving; thoughts that provoke me into deep anxiety and/or panic attacks. I then brought that list in, and those thoughts, which for the most part tended to be negative, had to be changed into something more positive; something to try and keep me out of that funk, to combat the anxiety. And this is what Shivaun helped me to come up with. The one that stuck out the most to me was “My imperfections don’t define me.” The reason is that it is on the description of my blog. But I haven’t been living by it. I let that get away from me. This core tenant of my blog, of my life at one point, I had let go. But now I intend to reel it back in. I’m hoping… No, I will get better. I’m trying my best to help myself get better, dammit. It’s just hard to tell people. It’s hard to explain. But I’m getting there. And one day, I’ll be where I want to be.
